NGNM helped secure initial funding to kick-start the initiative. This early-phase funding consisted of a grant from Protocol Labs, which was secured against a proposal around the capture, storage, and verification of sensitive information — particularly around conflict zones, and in relation to maintaining accountability. These tools were used in the first documented blockchain-backed war crime submission to the International Criminal Court, as documented in Rolling Stone Magazine.
